Whoops, I meant to say that I like some of what Octavius is doing. Seriously, Peter is terrible at streamlining his responsibilities. He's got a lot on his plate, but he's purposely written so that he can never get a handle on anything. Hopefully when all this is said and done, he takes a few pointers from Ock in time management. Also, I feel more pity for Parker than anything. Sure, he's providing a lot of comedic relief right now, but you still want your favorite character to catch a break.

#17 preview, featuring Spider-Man 2099: www.newsarama.com/18802-superior-spider-man-17-preview.htmlI really hope Miguel doesn't die as the #19 cover shows. I'd like to see the series relaunch. On another note, I have some predictions for the title. Ock is thinking of dropping Peter Parker altogether to be a full-time Spider-Man, but it seems the one thing holding him back is his relationship with Anna Marie. So what I'm thinking of is that in "Darkest Hour", she'll break it off and that will push Ock over the edge and totally withdraw from Parker's life. That's when the Goblin will make his move probably.

#18 preview: www.newsarama.com/18909-superior-spider-man-18-preview.htmlIt seems more and more that Ock is regretting wiping out Peter's memories, that's probably what will lead to his cover being blown. Again, I really hope Miguel makes it through this. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #23 Dan Slott and Chris Gage (W) Humberto Ramos (A/C) Variant cover BY Skottie Young DARKEST HOURS Part 2 of 4: “Complications” • As Otto Octavius takes another big step in his life as Peter Parker... could a big part of Flash Thompson’s life be coming to a close? Will he be... VENOM NO MORE?! • More with MJ! More with Carlie! More with the Green Goblin! And, after half a century, one of the most cringe-worthy moments in ALL of Spidey-history! You do NOT want to miss this one! 32 PGS./Rated T …$3.99 SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #24 Dan Slott and Chris Gage (W) Humberto Ramos (A/C) Variant cover BY Stefano Caselli DARKEST HOURS Part 3 of 4: “Complications” • The birth of a new Goblin! The return of Cardiac! MJ’s greatest fear! • And the one question everyone will be asking: “Who is THE SUPERIOR VENOM?!” • Good luck, Superior Spider-Man! You’re gonna need it! 32 PGS./Rated T …$3.99 Another new Venom, huh. At this point, I got no theories who it could be.

SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #25 DAN SLOTT & CHRISTOS GAGE (W) • Humberto Ramos (A/C) Variant Cover by JG Jones Special super-sized 25th issue! • Otto Octavius, the Superior Spider-Man, in a life-or-death struggle against the original Superior Venom! • Plus: With one last goblin on his side, the Goblin King’s court is now complete! • Guest starring: The Avengers! 40 PGS./Rated T …$4.99 Original? Eddie? Well in a way that makes sense. Eddie's always seen himself as the hero with Spidey as the villain. SpOck's actions could probably rile Eddie up enough to try and take him down. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #26 Dan Slott (W) • Pascual Ferry (A) Cover by Ryan Stegman GOBLIN NATION PRELUDE • The stage is set for the biggest SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN story of them all! • And it starts here with a goblin fight like no other: The Green Goblin vs. The Original Hobgoblin! • Plus: That thing that happened at the end of #25... That thing that raised all of those questions... You don’t have to wait any longer. You’ll get your answers THIS ISSUE! Honest. 32 PGS./Rated T …$3.99 I'm not sure how, but it's looking like Goblin Nation will be the final arc of Superior. I mean, the All-New Marvel NOW! teaser for it did say "THE END".

A few comments about #20: * Damn, what a punch SpOck gave Cat. Just another thing Peter's gonna have to fix when he gets back. * How dumb was it for Ock to use his own work for "Peter's" thesis, especially when someone from his past was part of the comittee? And now #21 preview: www.newsarama.com/19508-superior-spider-man-21-preview.htmlI'm betting this will be another issue of shocking moments. How will SpOck deal with Stunner, and will he make Lamaze rue the day?

Gonna do this all in one post. In regards to #21, looks like Ock managed to get out of hot water in both situations, and Parker Industries is about to happen. Since Darkest Hour is coming up next, this is probably the calm before the storm. I have a new prediction for that story too. Ock's experienced almost every aspect of being Spidey/Peter. He's lost a job and been neglectful to loved ones, there's only one thing that hasn't occured while being Spider-Man: losing a loved one. That being said, that's probably bad news for Anna Maria. Here's a preview for next week's Annual. Gotta say that if I didn't know better, I would have thought that was really Peter. www.newsarama.com/19576-superior-spider-man-annual-1-counts-says-marvel.htmlFinally, solicits for February. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #27.NOW DAN SLOTT (W) • GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI (A/C) Variant Cover by Mark Brooks Sketch Variant by Mark Brooks Animal variant by Jenny Parks Blank Variant Also Available “Goblin Nation” #1 (of 5) • The so-called Superior Spider-Man has failed. Under his watch, the Green Goblin took control of New York’s underworld. This is all Otto Octavius’ fault. Now it’s his responsibility to take the Goblin down. • Win or lose, this shall be Otto’s greatest battle. Whatever you do, don’t miss the first chapter of the biggest event in the entire Superior Spider-Man Saga! • The End starts here. Superior Spider-Man versus… THE GOBLIN NATION! 32 PGS./Rated T …$3.99 SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #28 DAN SLOTT (W) • GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI (A/C) Variant cover by Dave Marquez “Goblin Nation” #2 (of 5) • Goblins! Spiderlings! Super villains! Giant robots! It can only mean one thing: ASSAULT ON SPIDER-ISLAND! • If you want to see people standing around talking, read another comic. Want to see heroes having a fist fight, go somewhere else? • You are IN the GOBLIN NATION and this is ALL-OUT WAR! 32 PGS./Rated T …$3.99 Five bucks says #31 or #32 in April will be the end of the series. Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be out in May and you just know Marvel will want to cash in on that by bring Peter back just in time.

In regards to this week's annual, this was another instance where Ock probably did better as Spider-Man than Peter would. I mean, Peter wouldn't outright torture someone, but the beating he gave Kingpin in the "Back In Black" arc kind of comes to mind. Besides that, Blackout's a demon so it's okay in some way. But still, it's kind of badass when you can make a demon hurt. Now, next week, "Darkest Hours" begins in #22: www.newsarama.com/19641-vemom-descends-on-superior-spider-man-in-the-start-of-the-darkest-hour-arc.htmlAlso, I don't usually post the unlettered preview art, but the recent sneak peek at #24 has got me thinking: www.newsarama.com/19632-superior-venom-on-the-way-as-spidey-ock-venom-have-1st-showdown.htmlMy Eddie theory may be off. I'm just basing it off the suit, but Superior Venom may actually be Ock. I mean, Ock constantly considers himself superior to Peter, so what's another way to prove that than to do what Peter couldn't and control the symbiote...of course, he probably won't be able to.
