Figured I'd wait til all the shorts were out to post them here.
I know I said I liked how Peter showed how into science he was, but man they really need to tone it down. I keep expecting Linkara to pop out with his "Only a science major could..." line. But aside from that, I still see a lot of potential here. It has good humor (that "Sorry, that happens to me a lot" line was so meant to be dirty I know it). But the last short shows just how dark we can go here. So, I get some idea of what to expect and I look forward to the premiere.
I should point out though that episode 3 is listed as "Origins" on Wikipedia. Who wants to bet it's just these shorts combined into one episode? Avengers: EMH did the same thing when they first started, combining the 20 shorts into 5 episodes.

Yeah, the show has some potential. I agree, I think they'll just put these together.

Just finished watching ep.1 of this new show. It's actually pretty good. The animation and colors are working for me. I know that the bullet in the final short released got a lot of people excited, which is kind of funny. Then again, I scrutinize over the smallest minutia all the time, so I guess I shouldn't judge. The episode was good though. Not amazing, but it was fun and has me anticipating the next episode. I can actually see this being able to match Spectacular's levels of awesome if it takes off. If it stays the way it is, then it'll still be a welcome return to a Peter Parker and Spider-man focused show, rather than a show about everyone else.

I've seen both new episodes. It feels like an actual Spider-Man show with Peter relying on his own merits instead of SHIELD or other heroes, not to mention he's actually fighting his own villains right off the bat and that he's dealing with real problems and has an actual supporting cast. I'm just waiting for Gwen to show up and I wonder how her relationship with Peter will be; it would be nice for some romantic drama again. I did notice a lot of parallels with Spectacular's first episodes (Vulture as the first villain and wanting revenge on someone, money troubles for Aunt May). The animation style really helps the action be more fluid, especially when he's fighting Scorpion on the subway.
Stuff I didn't like? Well, I notice Harry's got a hate boner for Spider-Man...again. I swear, they better not make him Venom...AGAIN. Then there's the villains. The Smythes at this point feel like such one-dimensional villains that all they need are twirly moustaches. It also feels weird that they made Octavius so young; I guess Scott Menville being cast should have been a clue, but still. Also, they really took away any mystery when Smythe talked about "his master plan".
Right off the bat though, it's definitely better than Ultimate. I don't really want to make big judgments just based on the premiere. It took awhile for both Spectacular and Ultimate before my feelings for both were clear. That said, this new show still has potential, but I still think it needs to do more to really stand out and be great in its own way.

Didn't really care for episode 3, particularly the fact that Norman pitted two kids to fight each other causing tons of collateral damage and putting many people at risk, and no one faces any repercussions.
I really enjoyed episodes 4 and 5 though. Still too soon to rank it with the other good series, but I really think the show is starting to come into its own. It's just nice to see social drama in Peter's life again, even in an advanced school setting, and I notice the relationship with Gwen is starting to form. Like Spectacular, I like how episodes are building off of each other and there are multiple threads connected with plenty of set-up for the future. I do wish that they held on to the Jackal mystery for awhile though.
If there's one thing I do worry about though, it's that it seems like half the Spider-Man cast will be teenage geniuses.

I agree with you mostly. I will say that I thought Spectacular was stronger out the gate though. My favorite aspect of this show thus far is the way they're trying to endear the viewer to the character. Ultimate was all flash and bang, with almost no attempt to build character. Even the action scenes were filled with crappy hand to hand fight choreography and silly cut scenes that interrupted the action. The action in this show has been up there with spectacular thus far, but with more detailed characters, which (dare I say it) gives it the potential to be better in that department as well.
How'd you watch episode 4? I can't find it on YouTube, and it hasn't aired yet, right? There's a bunch of reviews of it up though. What's that site you used to go to? anime something?

I think I enjoyed episode 4 more than I did episode 5. Now that we're 5 episodes in, it's hard for me to see this being better than Spectacular. Yes it's still early, but at this point, I can see that they have a couple gimmicks (Horizon High being one of them, with all the child geniuses being the other) they're leaning a little too heavy on. The show is doing an okay job with the characters, don't get me wrong. It's also a nice return to the more soap operatic aspects of Peter Parker's life, but Spectacular just did it better IMO. There wasn't really a gimmick to that show, and if there was, I think they just did things in a way that was more subtle that allowed for a smoother story. For example, in this new show, if someone is being set up to be a villain, they're overtly criticizing Spider-man and blaming him for things that are obviously not his fault. No question, Spidey saved Harry's life twice and hasn't had any run ins with his father, yet Harry hates Spidey. In Spectacular, Norman manipulated Harry in a twist that you had to wait for. In this new show, they're actually doing an okay job setting up Gwen and Peter, so I have no complaints there yet. In Spectacular, they developed the romance over the first 13 episodes. One of the episodes took the time to show them in class shooting looks at each other, getting embarassed and looking away, all the while not even giving the characters dialogue. it was all visual cues. I'd like to see that kind of attention to detail in this new show. Hopefully I'm wrong, and they can get there. As for now, we're not there yet.

I was searching for episode 6 of the series and couldn't find it. Eventually, I went over to Wikipedia (which should've been the first place I looked for a plot summary to see what had aired) and saw that you called it BIB. Episode 6 is called "Origins", has no description, and aired on Saturday. Makes sense, but I am bummed about it though. I find myself looking forward to this every Saturday. For all the talking I did earlier, I'm glad to have this show.

Yeah, despite that, there wasn't even a spot for it on the TV listings that day. I'm not sure what happened there. But the next three episodes are still listed for this Saturday. I wouldn't worry too much though; like I said before, it's probably just the Origin shorts compiled for a 20 minute episode.

So we've had our symbiote arc of the show. My main complaint is that it was much shorter than the 90's and Spectacular. And while I enjoyed seeing the more aggressive Spidey (if you listen closely, you can even notice the symbiote causes a bit of voice distortion too), it appears they had Peter acting cooler than he really was. Did they learn nothing from Spider-Man 3? At least we were spared a dance number.
I also like that they're spacing out the time between the black suit and Venom appearing, much like they did in the comics (episode 13 is titled "Venom" btw). Although it seems like they're setting up Flash for the symbiote. I don't mind Flash as Venom, but I just wish they would have a true villain Venom again and save hero Venom for next season.
I'm also betting that Max is going to figure out Peter is Spider-Man if he hasn't already; he's a smart guy and I'm sure he's picked up some clues.
EDIT: Did a little digging on Wikipedia, so take this as a grain of salt, but apparently Corey Feldman will be voicing Eddie Brock. So, here's hoping.

Just saw the Sandman episode. I really liked it, but not so much for the story element of it and more for the action unfortunately. Still tho, Marko's daughter is pretty awesome! I was thinking, "dang, she's manipulating the sand in ways I've never seen in the spider-man video games or other shows and movies." I knew he had the symbiote attached to him, but it just worked for me the way that they waited for it to fully bond. I also enjoyed the speed and strength upgrades. Regular Spider-man couldn't do sh## against the sand girl. With the symbiote it was like she was made of cotton candy. I can't wait for her return.

Just watched Symbiotic Relationship and Star Expo. I love how the Stark Expo is in a building that is modeled exactly like the convention center where San Diego Comic Con is held. Even the inside looks just like it. I'm loving this show right now. It's definitely my favorite since Earth's Mightiest Heroes, even though it's still too early to tell where they'll go overall. Best cartoon Iron Man action I've seen too (not including that weird MTV Spider-man esque, in the style of animation I mean, Iron Man show). Wish I didn't have to stop watching right now due to work, because I'd love to watch the next episode.

Just caught Spider-man on Ice, and continuing to love the show. The relationship between Harry and Peter is actually going somewhere and there are times when the show has a 90's Saturday morning sit com vibe to it. That's not entirely a bad thing, and it's working for the show. When Harry started wielding that fire sword he created, I really geeked out. At some point, I imagine he'll use it as the Goblin, or maybe they'll go the hobgoblin route and whoever the hobgoblin is will get to use it. It's always fun to imagine your favorite superhero wielding a light saber esque energy sword though, right? When you actually get to see it, it's even better. The action in this show is top notch. Spider-man's acrobatics have never been better in animated form, and for all the show's failings, the action is really great.
If I had one complaint, it's that Peter is a little hypocritical for not letting Harry use the sword, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they're going to do something good with it. Honestly, I don't want to see Harry and Peter drift apart, only to have Harry get killed right after they reconcile. Whether or not Harry bites the dust is still up in the air, but them drifting apart is definitely being set up. I just hope they continue to write Harry the way they're doing because he really is a good kid with the best of intentions, even if he has some dark moments. That's pretty much what Harry has always been, right? Peter should've already told Harry he's Spider-man. It's not like Harry 'ain't about that life'. Harry wouldn't be in any more danger than he's already been in, especially considering that Spider-man has already gotten into it with Norman Osborne multiple times.

We finally had our Venom debut today. While it did up to be Flash, they did it in a way where he wasn't THE Venom, which I'm happy about. I'd just like to see a proper Venom in animation again, where the symbiote finds the right host (Eddie) who shares its hate of Spider-Man. And I also think it would be nice if they showed Eddie's more heroic side, ie Lethal Protector, something the cartoons haven't done.
