Understandable. The promise of a tv show with one of Batman: TAS's front runners, a show that we were led to believe would be based on the Ultimate Spider-man comics , just made it harder to cope with how bad it came out.

I've been working my way through season 2. I'm on the 9th episode entitled "House Arrest". I was really surprised to see The Grizzly show up. I remember reading about the character first in a Spider-man comic from the 60s (possibly the 70s). The suit enhances the strength of the wearer through some mechanical means). The guy inside the suit is a wrestler. I don't remember it too well, there might have been some periphery story of him trying to relive his glory days or something. Spider-man eventually trashes him by tearing his suit off of his body. That was the last I ever read of him. All in all, this show is still incredibly stupid, but I had fun with the SHIELD house security system.

Favorite episodes this season have been:
Guardians of the Galaxy Journey of the Iron Fist Venom Bomb and Game Over
All authority figures in this show are portrayed as nagging parents. Jameson comes off as one of those dreadfully annoying adults in 90's toy or junk food commercials. No matter how hair brained Spider-man's ideas and decisions are, the show expects you to love and root for him anyway. It's as though the show's advisers are children. The episodes listed above caught my attention in a good way because of the supporting characters, which is sad, honestly. Even still, you can see that he has grown a little as compared to season 1.

I finished season 2, hooray for me!!! Gotta say, as much as I pissed and moaned about the show, it grew on me. Am I a fan of the show? No, and it earned all of the grumbling it evoked from us. But, damn it if I didn't start looking forward to USM as a silly way to end my nights this winter break. What can I say? I get sentimental over stuff given time. I like how open the show's universe is and how ambitious the scope is. I wish the personal journey aspect would get a little more ambitious, but the show has already set its path. Might as well wait it out, because this won't be the last Spider-man show we ever get. That's just me anyway, not saying I won't complain about it in the future.
P.S. The Blade 2 parter turned out to be one of the better episodes.

So it seems like we'll be seeing more than one Spider-person this season. www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=52704I won't get my hopes up, but I'm hoping they do Miguel and Miles justice, given it's their very first time in animation. They'll probably tone down Noir, but he should still be pretty badass. I don't know about Spider-Girl being Mayday though; the way this series is, she'll probably be from some genderswap universe where Peter's a girl.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm looking forward to the new season. I mean, we knew it was coming. I'm ready for something silly to catch up on at night.

Donald Glover finally gets his wish to play Spider-Man, as he'll voice Miles Morales: www.newsarama.com/21965-donald-glover-is-miles-morales-spider-man.htmlA couple other comments: * I called it with Spider-Girl. Her name will be Petra Parker, because Marvel's apparently afraid to show people that Spider-Man can have kids. * I've seen previews for the premiere this Sunday, and it's another body switch story with Loki. God that is really getting played out. I still kind of hope they do a Superior storyline, but it will probably lose its impact given we now have 3 body switch episodes in this series.

I decided to check out an episode from season 3 via youtube. I went with episode 2 because ep.1 wasn't available at the time. So, one episode in and I'm enjoying having the Avengers be a bigger part of the show. Spider-man is definitely a more competent hero this time out, and Drake Bell has kind of reigned the performance in a bit. I'm starting to see that his overly childish Spidey was intentional. Bell obviously knew that Peter would grow as the series progressed, and as an actor he needed a place to take the character. That isn't to say he couldn't have toned it down a little, I mean, we all saw what Keaton did in 2 seasons of TSSM, and Peter definitely learned some tough lessons there as well. Regardless, I appreciate that Bell at least had a plan.

So now that the New Warriors arc is over, I feel I can comment now. This show has definitely improved with this season, and they've definitely cut back on the chibi-characters and cutaway gags. And like Excellent said, Spidey has matured and I'm even starting to take Bell seriously now. What I really like is Spidey is being more inspirational now. The show's still not as good as TAS or Spectacular, but when this show first started, I said this was more of a "Spidey in the Marvel Universe" show, so we have to take it as that since we know well enough that they don't focus on Peter Parker's life here.
The bad spot however has been the Jessie crossover episode. Yeah, I'm going to forget that ever happened.
Haven't watched the Spider-Verse 4 parter yet, but that's next.

Finally got around to watching Spider-Verse. Pretty good, but not great. Had a similar feeling to Shattered Dimensions obviously, but it's definitely a high point for the series. Won't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it, but here's how I rank the visits to the alternate universes: 1. Miles Morales 2. Noir 3. 2099 4. Spider-Ham 5. Spider-Girl 6. Spider-Knight

So season 3 is finally on Netflix. After 3 episodes, I feel the same in that the show has definitely improved in season 3. Interesting side note: Drake Bell has been sort of a tool on social media over the past year. Yet, his Spider-man has become more tolerable.
EDIT: Episode 4 showed just how much Spider-man has grown in his combat abilities. After over 46 episodes, Spider-man can fight as well as his TSSM counterpart could in his 1st season.

Finished the web warriors 4 parter. It was a lot of fun. I'm definitely a fan of season 3. I actually really liked Spider-Ham. I'd rank the visits to the alternate universes as follows:
1. Miles Morales 2. Noir 3. Spider-Knight 4. Spider-Ham 5. 2099 6. Spider-Girl
Mary Jane was all gum drops and applesauce in Noir*. Makes me wish this show had a little romance in it. Then again, Drake Bell's Spider-man wouldn't really service that type of subplot too well.
*Whatever that means see, yeah, see...

I finished season 3. Honestly, the show could end now and it would feel complete. What a ride. We unanimously hated season 1, I don't remember what the group consensus was on season 2. I feel like it either got better or wore me out. Whatever the case, I liked season 3. It just goes to show that like Batman, you can do Spider-man so many different ways. Guess I finally just came around to this version. I'm pretty sure that when the new Spider-man film comes out, Disney will do a reboot of the show. There's no way they're not going to try and capitalize on having Pete in high school, or having Mary Jane , Gwen and/or Liz Allen as part of the cast. The current show all but ignore's the Peter Parker aspect of the character's life.
