So I thought of something new to speculate about. Since we didn't get a definitive set-up for Civil War in AoU, it appears that the tipping point for the Superhuman Registration Act will be what starts the movie, much like the explosion in Stamford did in the comics. Here's something I could see them doing: someone takes an overdose of Extremis, and their body rejects it, resulting in an explosion bigger than ones we saw in Iron Man 3 and hundreds of people dying. One of the victims: Pepper Pots. Behind the scenes wise, it could be a way to give Gwenyth Paltrow a real send off from the MCU instead of just having her fade away. Story wise, this could be Tony's motivation for supporting registration.
What do you guys think?

It would be an incentive. On the other hand, I like having her around. I haven't heard much talk of her being difficult to bring back, especially given the new role she has taken in the MCU since IM2. So long as she's not having to deal with action heavy material, it's probably not too much work for her besides press. Beyond that, the MCU doesn't really have many women in it. It'd be a shame for them to get rid of such a long standing character permanently. Perhaps a significant death isn't really necessary to get Stark to join pro-registration. Considering the amount of damage he caused in Avengers 2, he really is changing philosophies.

www.newsarama.com/24428-ant-man-vision-war-machine-join-marvel-s-civil-war-as-it-begins-production.htmlCaptain America: Civil War picks up where 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. More returning characters: Paul Bettany as Vision Don Cheadle as War Machine Paul Rudd as Ant-Man William Hurt as General Thunderbolt Ross I'm really surprised/glad that we have someone from Incredible Hulk coming back. Though I wonder, will he Rulk out?

Without spoiling anything, you bet your ass he is! Hope Spidey switches sides. Also, excited to see Winter Soldier again. He's such a devastating fighter though. Will he be tamed in this? Super excited to see what they do with Black Panther in terms of fighting style. There's potential to really reinvent the wheel with his combat. Lastly, how do you beat Vision? He's got an infinity stone in his head. Thor's gone, and Hulk is who knows where, rumored to be dealing with Ross.

I guess it depends if he'll hold back for Steve's sake. I really like his fighting style in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes where he used both claws and daggers. Honestly, the only one I could see being a match for Vision is Scarlet Witch.

Yeah. By reinvent the wheel, I definitely meant in terms of live action choreography. They could reinvent the wheel in terms of what we've seen in live action. They should certainly be influenced by the comics, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes could be a source of inspiration for that influence.
Far as Scarlett Witch goes, I hope they give her a power boost. She was cool, but like Thor, her powers seem a little restrained.

I brought this up in the other thread, but I was just thinking, how much will Spider-man be used in this movie? Rumors have it that his stunt doubles were on set for quite some time back in June or July, and now Holland himself was on set again these past couple weeks. Other rumors have Spidey fighting Cap himself.
For many (if not most) of us here, Spider-man is our favorite character, however, I still want it to be clear that Spidey is out of his element. For one, he's still very young in his career, and also, Cap gets better in every movie (even from Winter Soldier to Age of Ultron). Here's hoping to see some really unconventional, and unpredictable arachnobatic shit from our favorite web slinger before Cap sets him straight senior citizen style.

There's a funny meme making its rounds right now. Spider-man's head a pasted over this actor's head from Forrest Gump with the caption, "Sorry for ruining your Black Panther Party". The rest of the Panther's have the Avenger's heads pasted on them. This is in reference to the fact that Spider-man appears to be holding a much larger role in Civil War than we were lead to believe. At least, this is seeming to be more and more the case if you've been following the latest updates on Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei's involvment in Civil War. I'm torn, honestly. Spider-man is huge in the Civil War story line, and he's my favorite character. However, the Black Panther angle offers a much more complex story that is interesting for several reasons. The themes of that story are rich and have global reach, and such fodder has not yet touched on in the MCU. Yeah, they've yet to do Spidey either, but I'm just more interested in seeing Black Panther at the center of it all honestly. I've expressed my feelings on the centering of Spider-man in the Civil War story, and how I feel it was unnecessary, so many times I need not repeat them.

The article you linked said that his location was too big a reveal. I know it's nit picky, but I just wanted to throw that out there because of all the information that has been coming out on Ike Perlmutter no longer holding the leash on Feige. Lots has been coming out about Perlmutter lately that at least confirms hearsay that has been around for years. I'm definitely excited to see what Feige can do with less financial restriction. There's always been this sense of frugality in Marvel's movies. Even when the CGI is awesome and great care has gone into set design, there are parts visually that are awkwardly juxtaposed in their films. I'm talking nearly all of them. Maybe Perlmutter being out with the film division will change that. On the other hand, we may know better from here on out when Marvel has minor misfires how much of the blame lays on Feige... or not. Cause Marvel's got secrets and stuff.

Jimmy Kimmel tweeted that Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are coming on the show with a big surprise on their upcoming film Civil War. A trailer tease would be nice, or even a photo of a fully suited Black Panther or Spidey. I have a feeling that they'll hold back on Spider-man though. That said, if they announce a release date for a trailer I'll be somewhat irked. I can wait until Star Wars to see the trailer, but when they go and get your hopes up for something like that, it tends to take the steam out of one's sails.
