I would be too, but I don't see it happening. For one thing, I'm pretty sure Emma is signed on for 3 movies. More importantly, Green Goblin and Gwen's death would be a more proper end to the trilogy. I mean, Osborn is supposed to be the main villain of the series and it makes sense for him to take Gwen from Peter. That would be more meaningful than someone like Electro killing her. If anything, when Max gets his powers, people could think he's dead and the funeral's a flashback.

why not? i agree electro can't kill her but structurally ending with her death and the villain escaping is very dramatic.

Socool, haven’t seen you since you posted about RIM’s grim response to TASM. What’d you think? Seems you’re still excited for the franchise. Anywho,
I’m happy that the trilogy is no longer the dominant way studios are seeking to do film series. That can’t be stressed enough. To be sure, action movies, slasher and horror flicks, and other such exceptions have been around, but it seems that by and large, Marvel Studios’ model has had a profound influence on the industry.
On the other hand, I’d like my Spidey flicks to feel like complete adventures; I feel that TASM just barely pulled that off. So while I like the idea that Marc Webb isn’t just making a sequel, I’ll be looking forward to some sort of reassurance that TASM2 won’t be a glorified “building block”. Marvel Studios has a whole stable of consultants, while Fox has Mark Millar to oversee their universe building. Who does Sony have? Being able to consult with Marvel isn’t l likely to be enough.
To end on a positive note, I’m excited to hear about Paul Giamatti. I don’t mind the Rhino’s inclusion either, and I think there are several ways the character can be done justice, while still fitting into the more grounded take on Spidey.

New York, February 5, 2013 – Columbia Pictures announced today that filming has begun on The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2 in New York. The film is the first in the history of the franchise that will be filmed entirely in New York City and New York State. The sequel to last year’s critical and box office hit The Amazing Spider-Man, the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field. In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The film’s key behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Dan Mindel, production designer Mark Friedberg, editors Pietro Scalia and Elliot Graham, and costume designer Deborah L. Scott. The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.www.facebook.com/notes/the-amazing-spider-man/the-amazing-spider-man-2-begins-production-in-new-york/423227204419862

Gah, you beat me to it.
Anyway, I'm betting Colm Feore is playing either Norman or Jameson.

Pretty exciting. I'm excited just to get an excuse to stare at Andrew Garfield some more Really though, Jamie Foxx as Electro seems kinda weird to me. I can't picture it in my head.

It's not because of that I don't even know what the costume is gonna be like, nor do I actually know much about Electro so, I guess I can't say. It's just weird imagery in my head.
