Sam Claflin, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth and Boyd Holbrook are all being screen tested. Deehan left Webb's house looking 'disappointed', Sony are apparently now seeking actors with characteristics that include athleticism and good looks: www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/GraphicCity/news/?a=70279

I hope the villain storyline will be better this time around.

That really sucks. DeHaan could've played a good Harry. James Franco's version of the character wasn't quite a jock, or a geek though, so Sony could really go either way with this one without creating too much of a contrast. I just hope that whoever they choose for Harry is someone who can evoke the audience's sympathies. I've never been Franco's biggest fan, but IMO, he was at times the best thing in Spider-man 3.

This is non-news, but I was watching the special features of my TASM blu ray last night, and I came across an animatic of scene that was scrapped before it was even filmed. Peter and Gwen were swinging together. At street level a delivery guy waited at the corner, confused as to where his customers were. Peter and Gwen are up in midswing asking each other if either has smaller than a $20 bill. They swoop by and grab the bag of food out of the delivery guy’s hands before they decide. Two seconds later they swoop back and leave him a 20.
With a little more filler stuff, this would’ve been a fun little clip to have in the movie, but I’m glad it wasn’t. The next movie has a chance to be great, and the fact that so much was held back in this film means that there’s a lot of fun things that’ll be fresh for the next one. In other words, I'd like to see fun stuff like this, but make it count.

Yeah, after that talk of picking a better looking and more athletic Osborn too. I'm glad they went with him. It's also nice to get confirmation on Fox. I thought it was already official, but I guess it's super official today.
