Clearly BIB, Jamie Fox will be dawning a rectangular looking metallic suit. We've just caught our first glimpse at his costume in that picture you posted above. Although some say it looks like a storage compartment in a morgue, and others are pointing toward USM volume 6.
Gotta be honest here, while the current title isn't all that inspired, I prefer it over using the other Spidey titles. I dunno why, just my feeling on it at the moment. The synopsis sounds okay. They're definitely following the natural progression of the story they set up, which is IMO good. But, I do hope this one is more consistent with the quality in writing the high school characters and general setting. The high school needs to feel like a real high school, something in the vein of 21 Jump Street or Chronicle: two completely different movies that actually felt like they existed in a real high school setting, somewhere. Amazing Spider-man definitely felt staged to me, like very good make believe. I was expecting more naturalism, given all the talk of naturalism in the writing.
I'm not throwing all my eggs in that basket though because the tone of the series has already been cast, and there's a good chance it won't change much in the sequel. So my biggest hope for now, at least, is that Webb decides to shoot some stuff in IMAX (he ditched the digital RED epic cameras), and that they really go nuts with the action. That's right, I'm shifting to an emphasis of caring more about the action than the actual character drama. So long as the movie buzz doesn't indicate character assassination, I'd like to see some inspired cinematography (read: actual extended POV shots). The swinging was pretty good the first time around, but they can definitely do more with Spidey's abilities. Go team!
P.S. Anyone remember when Webb tweeted "gnarly webshooters" a couple months back? Think he might be getting an upgrade to handle a baddy?
