I really love the tone and I don't feel like its going to tick tack on R-rated elements. It's weird to say but it feels kind of like an indie survival film. X-23 is a great catalyst to this kind of road trip story. I like how we go from a sci fi totalitarian apocalypse to a post war wild west apocalypse. I know everyone makes fun of the time line issues, but I enjoy the different angles the franchise has looked at. Hey man, good to see you again.

Does anyone have a theory on what timeline this will take place in and why? I watched a few videos on it and found a chronological chart that explains the timeline changes due to the events of Days of Future Past and now I just feel more confused

You convoluted MORON! It's so simple! Are you kidding me? This trailer sucks by the way, what was with that depressing country music? What's next, is Wolverine gonna get drunk and whine about his dead girlfriends? Boo freakin hoo. Just thought I'd let you guys know I'm not dead. I've been hanging out with Deadpool and he accidentally gave me his healing factor. Looks like you're stuck with me. By the way, lopli's address is....

That makes more sense. In the comics, it's Mysterio who tricks Logan into killing all of the X-Men. Do you think they'll use him at all or will it happen some other way? What if it was Stryker's son that manipulated Logan into killing all the X-Men? I could see that working too since he can use mind control

I had the same thought the other day Stryker's son could cause the 'X-massacre'.

I know it's far fetched and likely won't happen, but I think it would be funny if it showed Logan killing Deadpool. He could decapitate him and put his head in a microwave like in the first issue of "Deadpool Kills Deadpool" where one Deadpool kills another Deadpool Probably wouldn't happen in this kind of movie, but I could just see Deadpool saying "What am I even doing here?" before his head explodes.

Also, considering this movie takes place in the future, they could do X-Men movies that take place inbetween this movie and Days of Future Past and this could open the potential to them possibly using the Merc with a Mouth in a cross over of sorts.

The theatrical version is a better cut. However, I vote Rogue Cut if it includes the theatrical version on the disc. I do own the Rogue cut, but I don't remember if the theatrical version is also included.

I never understood why people claim Days of Future Past is the best X-Men film. It's got a few fun scenes, but it's mostly a jumbled mess. Its forced message of hope doesn't resonate at all with me. In retrospect, I wouldn't even call Days of Future Past a good film. First Class, on the other hand, is a freaking masterpiece. In my humble opinion, it is by far the best X-Men movie.

If you could check for me mr.excellent, I would really appreciate it. I'm just fascinated by the fact it involves time travel. I'm obsessed with time travel and I wanna see how Wolverine going back changes things(don't spoil it for me ya nerds!). I've only seen First Class once, and I fell asleep. Not because it was boring, but because I watched it in bed and it was like two in the morning. I used to take it as a personal challenge to see how late I could stay up without falling asleep and I would literally watch movies until I passed out. That was one of those nights. I quit doing it after my dad stopped staying up with me. It was our bonding time

That's unfortunate, I think you should definitely watch First Class again! I don't know if I'd say it's my favourite superhero film, but it's definitely up there.

This is not by any means a good comparison, but I've drawn a couple similarities between First Class and TASM 2. Both of them had elements of greatness, but neither of them lived up to what they could be. IMO First Class is still a really good movie, while TASM 2 doesn't quite make the cut for me. Even still, First Class was hampered (for me) by a couple lackluster performances (Jennifer Lawrence, January Jones, Zoe Kratiz to a lesser extent, and all of the child actors) and rushed production. It'd be a little better if Lawrence wasn't smack in the center of the film's story, but the fact that she is makes it hard to see the movie as a 'great film'. The creators behind First Class decided to make a soft reboot, which was mostly remedied by Days of Future Past, but as a whole I think the film suffers from the entire franchises inability to keep its timelines in order. If you think about it, before Days of Future Past, the connection between Mystique and Charles made absolutely no sense. Especially because they were still trying to hold onto some story parts from Singer's 1st X-Men movies. Back to the performances though. A few lackluster performances won't necessarily ruin a film, and these certainly did not. However, they're mixed in with such great performances from the likes of Michael Fassbender, James McAcoy, Kevin Bacon, and even Nicholas Hoult, which for me, makes them harder to ignore. There's also the fact that I've seen Lawrence do so much better in almost every other film she's been in. So on that level too, it's hard to ignore a bad performance from a great actress when you know she's so much better. I know for many it's insulting to put TASM 2 in league with First Class. However, I think that that movie had some great story elements centered around its core cast that were hampered by having to share time with other story elements. It was not nearly as coherent as First Class was, but the fact that its potential seeped into the movie and was not allowed to be fully realized leads me to draw the comparison. The mystery about what happened to Peter's parents was done very well, as were the scenes between Richard Parker Norman Osborn. Peter and Harry's friendship was also very good. Both of these are things many didn't like, but there was this complaint that a lot in the TASM franchise was rehash and I felt this was a great area of distinction that was worth exploring. With regard to Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn character, the actor put a lot of thought into fleshing out a spoiled billionaire young adult that IMO would have been fun to watch against Peter's struggling 18-20 year old Peter Parker. Imagine a story with a razor sharp focus on how the 2 of them have a separate journey, simultaneously, basically searching for the same answers. One with all the resources to do his research, living in his world among the 1%. The other with nothing but the clothes on his back and a couple superpowers. It just intrigues me. As for the acting, there were of course some great (some of the best IMO) performances in TASM 2. The movie probably has the best chemistry between its 2 leads than any other superhero film to date. That said, the film also has some of the worse performances in superhero cinema. They stick out like a sore thumb, and actually do ruin the movie for me. It never ceases to amaze me how much crap Garfield gets for his portrayal of Peter, which turns into an outright critique of his acting. Funny that following TASM 2, he's (co)starring in 2 movies that may get best picture nods in the same year. We'll see how it turns out. On a totally nonrelated topic, lopli, the rogue cut has both the theatrical and rogue cut version of the film in it.

I'd like to retract part of that comment above. I don't actually think Lawrence turned in a bad performance. I said that up there, and I don't really feel that way. I just wasn't fully satisfied with her performance. It was decent, just not among her best work, so it really stuck out with me. Sort of left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially because in her interviews, she's sort of dismissive of her work on these projects, which I'm not too thrilled with.
