I think it bodes well. If this is to be his swan song, he's going to want it to be good. For him to take a pay cut, I think it shows he's pleased with what they cooked up for him.

Some people have pointed out that when we see a set of claws come at Wolverine in the trailer that seems to be sets of three instead of two. Do you guys think Dakken might be in this movie?

No idea, I dunno I dunno. Maybe a reimagined version of the character? I know it's set far in the future, but that seems like a big thing to just have in there with no reference to his lineage as written in the books. If it is addressed, it's a huge thing to address that could take big chunk of the story. Haven't read Old Man Logan tho, so maybe it would make sense?

I've only read volume two of it. The 2016 series that is. I read the first twelve issues of it

It looks amazing! The first trailer was fantastic, I didn't think they could match it. Stylistically, maybe they didn't, but this certainly interests me in the action and family angle of the film. My biggest concern was that this trailer would lessen my excitement for the movie because you can't really do much better than the first, and fortunately, this trailer held the excitement at the same level.

They also said The Wolverine was stand-alone too, but it fit. Honestly, at this point, it's not hard to see Logan as further into the X-Men timeline. The main problem is that they keep saying it's 5 years after the altered future scenes in DOFP, which makes no damn sense. When it comes to continuity and the X-Men movies, I don't have a problem following it, despite the many inconsistencies between films. It's like the Dragon Ball Z movies; even though they're not canon to the series, they're easy to place despite the inconsistencies. Still, it would be nice if it was as straight-forward like the MCU.

I'm cool with it being a stand alone film, but at the same time, it doesn't feel like much of a send off if it's literally not even the same Logan from the other movies. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Is that 100% confirmed or are we just misinterpreting it? To me, it seems like it's an old man version of the Logan we seen in the new Days of Future Past timeline. Apocalypse even had a cliffhanger for the movie and they're even re-using that albino mutant who's name I can't remember to save the life of me that was in it.

Okay, so the director clarified Jackman's statement. He says it's just set after all the other X-Men movies (still holding to the 5 years after DOFP crap) and is different from what came before. So maybe Jackman just meant it feels like it's its own thing, if that makes sense.

That makes more sense. By the way, the official MPAA rating is R for brutal violence and language through, and brief nudity.
I'm curious as to what the brief nudity is. I wonder if it's a situation like in X-Men Origins where Wolverine is trying to find clothes?

96% is pretty awesome! That's the highest rating any X-Men movie has gotten, and that's also (believe it or not) higher than any Marvel movie out thus far. Marvel's highest rated movie is The Avengers with 95%

I can believe it. X-Men First Class outscored both MCU films in 2011. Days of Future Past tied Guardians of the Galaxy's super high rotten tomatoes score, which beat Winter Soldier's score by 2%. X-Men 2 sits at 86%, and was arguably the best superhero film up until that time. Deadpool was rated pretty darn high. In general, X-Men films are no strangers to good critical reception, and have always given the competition a run for their money.
Box office is sort of a different story, but the movies have certainly done well for themselves.
