I found a two pack bundle at Walmart that contained the DVD versions of First Class and Days of Future Past. Not only did I get to rewatch First Class, I also got to see Days of Future Past for the first time. I really liked it! It's my third favorite X-Men movie now, with my second favorite being X1 and my favorite being X2

There's definitely 2 major camps of fans. The fans who favor the newer X-Men films with Fassbender and McAvoy, and those who prefer the originals. It's probably the nostalgia, but I like the originals and DOFP myself.

I enjoy the newer ones, because I feel there's more character development, wit, and drama and they feel more like something Marvel would put out. Although some of the reasons why DOFP is my favorite is that the casts come together and the Sentinel battles with the original cast.

I liked how one of the battles went back and forth between the two timelines. That was really cool. So, post-Days of Future Past, how exactly does X-Men Origins, Deadpool, and the original X-Men trilogy fit into the timeline, and did it erase anything besides the events of "The Last Stand"?

Yeah, Jean, Cyclops and Professor X. They're all still alive post DOFP. It changes 2013's The Wolverine as well, considering Jean's memories were haunting him.

Dude, the easiest way to see it is that DOFP erased all the other movies except First Class. The only canon parts of the new timeline are First Class, the past parts and future epilogue of DOFP, Apocalypse, Deadpool, and Logan. Part of the reason DOFP altered the timeline was so they could give the franchise a fresh start without having to worry about the other films and fixing the mistakes they made (like Barakapool). Also, since you haven't seen Apocalypse, I won't spoil anything about Mystique's allegiance in the end, not to mention that events from the older movies have occured early or redone, like Wolverine's cameo, Nightcrawler joining as a teenager rather than an adult, and Jean's use of her powers. Lastly, mutant opposition in X1 was happening because they were finally becoming publicly aware, which now happened in 1973 due to the timeline changes. Point is, think of it as two timelines, with First Class being part of both and Wolverine remembering the old one.

We may be heading for a reboot. www.joblo.com/movie-news/x-men-reboot-on-the-way-sans-bryan-singer-835This could be good or bad. On one hand, this would be the right time considering Apocalypse has brought things full circle and Logan will be Jackman's last time as Wolverine (which is why I'm posting this here since Logan is at this point the last X-Men movie). Plus they'd probably like to stop the whole '10 years later' with every movie. But on the other, I really liked the young characters and wanted to see where things went, maybe even doing just a soft reboot. Also, where does this leave Deadpool? But lets just hope they don't Trank it up and we end up with another Fant4stic. If the rumors of Marvel now consulting with Fox are true, it could be worth it, especially if it leads to a crossover. I mean, Dr. Strange has already teased the multiverse. The main MCU can have all the heroes and Inhumans, but then there's this universe where those with powers are treated more harshly. Seriously, an Avengers vs. X-Men film would make all the money.

They spent all this time using the altered timeline to fix everything, and now they're going to start over again? That is so lame. Plus we have all of this time gap inbetween. Apocalypse takes place in the 80s, and the new future at the end of Days of Future Past was in the 2010's. Other than Old Man Logan and the Deadpool movies, we have no idea what happened in all of that time. I think it would be such a waste to just start over. In Deadpool's case, I don' think it would effect it at all. For starters, Colossus was portrayed completely different. He had an accent and he looked different, plus Negasonic Teenage Warhead was never in the other x-men movies to start with, so regardless of what happens, I think Deadpool is fine. X-Men being different won't effect it

Btw blacky, just thought I would let you know that my negative thoughts towards this reboot idea in no way negates your opinions or your "X-Men vs Avengers" idea. I think that would be brilliant! I also think that Marvel could squeeze in a few more mutants without calling them mutants like they did with the Maximoff twins. Wolverine, for instance, could very easily be tweaked to be portrayed as an "enhanced". You could just say Weapon X gave him all his powers and not just his claws, and boom, there ya go, a plausible Wolverine in the Marvel Universe without having to introduce everyone with no explanation as to how they hid for so long. Plus, Wolverine fits in with teams other than X-Men. He's been an Avenger, and seeing as Deadpool barely has ties to the other movies, you could easily throw him in there too

At the time Fox bought the rights, Wolverine hadn't joined the Avengers yet Deadpool hadn't made a name for himself yet. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are in a gray area where they can be used by Fox for being Magneto's kids and by Marvel for being well known Avengers. It doesn't matter if you make changes; the characters themselves, as well as locations and concepts like Weapon X, are tied up in rights.

I meant if they obtained the rights. I am fully aware they don't have the rights at the moment, I was just theorizing on what could possibly happen if they did. You're referring to this, right?

Right, although Hulk is in the same boat as Namor with the rights shared with Universal. It's also worth mentioning that I think the Skrulls are in the same situation as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch; it's just that Marvel probably doesn't want to use them, leading to the Kree having issues with Xandar and how the Chitauri were portrayed in Avengers (considering they're the Skrull equivalent in the Ultimate universe). I think I get what you're saying though. Marvel could keep going with the Inhumans but introduce mutant characters without actually being mutants.

But the real question is: Who owns the rights to The Walrus? Webber's just dying to see his boyfriend on the big screen
