Just me thinking here, but maybe they'll go the New 52 root: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg.

I don't know. There's a few things to consider: 1. Geoff Johns is involved and he's writing the Justice League's new origin. I know, that probably won't mean anything, but you never know. 2. DC is giving Cyborg a big push lately. 3. They might want to bring some diversity to the team. Since they may be keeping Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, that would rule out John Stewart; hence Cyborg.
On another note, I'd like to see Neil Patrick Harris as Flash and Leonardo DiCaprio as Aquaman. I can't think of anyone for the rest of the League. I would like Bale as Batman, but I know it won't happen.

As we are all well aware, Marvel and the Avengers are successful, proving that a superhero team movie can work. Now that leaves some to wonder: where does DC go from here with the Justice League movie?
One of the things about Avengers is that it felt like you could watch it without having to see the solo movies first. DC can obviously go this root. We know who Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, GL, and Aquaman are. It's just a matter of bringing them together for a big threat. DC has done something like this with the first arc of the new title, even though it could have been improved in some areas.
However, can it be as successful as the Avengers? Marvel was smart by getting people's interest by featuring them in solo movies first, and then bringing them all together for a big enemy. Hype helped them. At the moment, DC's only successful movie franchise is Batman. Aside from that, Green Lantern disappointed, but there's Man of Steel next year, so we'll have to see where that goes. If WB wants to create the DCMU, they'll have to start with Man of Steel and possibly bring in Green Lantern as well. With Nolan's Batman series ending this year, they can reboot the series and make it similar to the Arkham games in terms of style. Maybe after all that, a Justice League movie could happen, and it'll be the best way to bring characters like Flash, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman to film. Wonder Woman's been in development hell for years, Flash hasn't gone anywhere, and nothing's happened with Aquaman. They could spin-off their own solo movies from there.
Marvel has another advantage though. They make their own movies, and Disney is only distributing. WB's best bet is to let DC Entertainment make the films.
This is just a fan talking though. All we can do is hope that DC will be able to compete with their own cinematic universe one day.

I just don't see how it could work. There would be no room for each character to be defined properly. We can't pretend that the Avengers isn't a sequel and made for people who saw the 5 previous movies.
Marvel has their own production company, but they also have a producer who wants things done and done right. DC completely lacks that foundation. It sounded like they were going for something with Geoff Johns and Green Lantern, but either the guy looked at the script and actually liked what they made or he never really had any say in anything.
DC would need a movie company, plain and simple. because WB is clearly not interested in making DC movies nor are they going to take all that much effort to see it done well. They would probably rather make a 3rd Clash of the Titans than a Wonder Woman movie. It's honestly infuriating. If Green Lantern was actually a good movie we'd probably have a Wonder Woman movie made in the next 2 years.

the motivation in this is just wrong. i can see it failing badly. Maybe they are just trying to create a plot thread connecting their barely moving WW and Flash movies. its just talk really.

Don't know who he could play because I don't know DC characters that well outside of cartoons, but I do like Ben Affleck. His bad reputation is a bit unfair, considering the good stuff he's put out there.

Alot of new rumors, which sound pretty awesome if true. www.superherohype.com/news/articles/174239-has-the-roster-for-the-justice-league-movie-been-revealed• Superman is essentially the same character from Man of Steel, and Zack Snyder is consulting regarding the writing of the character. • Batman: The strategist of the group. Batman doesn't really want to be involved with these super powered beings he considers too powerful. Easily the most complex written. • Wonder Woman: She has only been in man's world a few short months. The Wonder Woman script Michael Goldenberg is developing will be set before the Justice League movie. • Green Lantern: Will be Ryan Reynold's character from the Green Lantern movie, but will be freshly written with a more serious tone. • Flash: The most popular hero in civilian eyes who loves media attention, but when called upon is very serious. • Martian Manhunter: Alien who has lived on Earth in secret for over a hundred years who has knowledge of Darkseid and his reign. • Aquaman: Will be the King of Atlantis who has a key role in the film. • There will also be a heavy military presence in the film which in future rewrites could include characters featured in Man of Steel or even Amanda Waller (Angela Bassett) of which neither are included in the first draft. • Alfred Pennyworth is in the film in a minor appearance. • Lois Lane is also in the film in a cameo. • Darkseid's Elite will be featured who go up against the Justice League early on in the film.

Beall's script may have been completely scrapped: screenrant.com/justice-league-movie-script-writers/ The script was reportedly terrible and made worse by WB's meddling. Characters were constantly being pulled, re-added, and pulled again throughout the process at WB's request. The report says the film's future now depends on the success of Man of Steel.
