"This pioneering agreement calls for Marvel to develop four serialized programs totaling 52 one-hour episodes culminating in a four to eight episode mini-series programming event. Led by a series focused on “Daredevil,” followed by “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage,” the epic will unfold over multiple years of original programming, taking viewers deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a mini-series event in which the Marvel characters from the first four series team up as “The Defenders,” much like “The Avengers.”" More here: www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=95173

Recap of NYCC's DareDevil Panel. screenrant.com/daredevil-netflix-nycc-panel-footage-preview/I'm pretty damn excited about this. Charlie Cox looks pretty great as Matt Murdock, and the fact that they're making this into a show that deals with moral greys makes it more intriguing to me. I know that's what these shows and movies generally purport to be true about their product, but when Loeb said Murdock is one bad day away from being Frank Castle, I perked up a bit. I do hope that the dark lighting was in fact due to the lighting situation in the convention hall. I know that the Daredevil crime fighting action is going to be going on at night, and it should be dark, but I still want it to be visible. At least, visible sometimes. The idea of using the dark as part of the fighting style is pretty awesome though. I know people aren't digging the ninja suit, but I like that Batman Begins approach. Or shall I say, Frank Miller approach? Anyway, I like that his mask covers his face entirely. No eye holes, which makes sense, but to a thug who doesn't know anything about the crime fighting psycho fighting him, that has to be terrifying.

I was taken aback at first, but then it was pointed out to me that it was based on Matt's initial suit from Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.'s "Man Without Fear" origin story. I also found out that there will multiple suits in the series, so we'll probably get the traditional suit as the show progresses.

I can't say I've really kept up with Netflix's original series. There's something that sends chills down my spine (in a good way) when they flashed the end tag "All episodes available April 10th". That's just a freaken cool way to do things. Here it is, all at once!!!!!

Not much to really say other than, "Yep, that's Kingpin" and he does have an intimidating look. I saw a rumor awhile back that Kingpin might be involved in the Spidey solo film, which works out with my idea of having a gangwar element in the film.

I was surfing the comments section on DD related stuff these past few days. Someone had this really fun idea for a buddy cop element for Daredevil and Spider-man. It got me to thinking of our past discussions on the character, and how Netflix could be used to flesh out the more grounded, close to home problems the character mostly deals with. I don't know how that would work out with Sony still owning distribution rights, but considering the nature of their deal, Sony could carry characters like Kingpin (*massive story potential) over into their universe without having to do much of the leg work.

As time goes by, I'm getting more and more excited about April 10th. I'm trying to temper my expectations, but I think Netflix as a platform offers Marvel a really interesting opportunity. For all the smoke they were blowing about Agent Carter, that show really didn't do much on its own, or to further the universe. It just didn't do what it could have as a mini series. Fingers crossed.
